1. 01

   What BI Is and Why It Matters

   This opening module builds the shared vocabulary the rest of the course depends on. You will learn what business intelligence actually is, why organizations invest in it, and how raw operational data travels through a pipeline to become a decision-ready insight. You will also see exactly where the BI Analyst sits in that flow and what the role involves day to day. By the end you will be able to define BI in plain language, name the four types of analytics, order the stages of the data journey, and describe how a readable number turns into a business decision.

2. 02

   Where BI Data Lives: Warehouses, Marts, and Models

   BI runs on data that has been gathered, cleaned, and shaped for analysis rather than for daily transactions. This module explains how a data warehouse and its smaller data marts differ from operational databases, and why that separation matters. Then you meet the star schema and learn to tell dimensions from measures, so you always know what a number means and where it came from.

3. 03

   KPIs and Metrics That Mean Something

   Not every number belongs on a dashboard. This module draws the line between an ordinary metric and a true KPI, shows how to pair leading and lagging indicators, and defines each measure so it means exactly one thing. You will then set grounded targets, add Red, Amber, Green thresholds that trigger real action, and catch vanity metrics before they steer a decision the wrong way.

4. 04

   The BI Project Lifecycle

   Real BI work is a project, not a one-off report. This module walks the full BI project lifecycle: gathering requirements from stakeholders, sourcing and modeling the data, building and validating the dashboard, and delivering and iterating on it. You will finish able to scope a reporting request and plan the path from a business question to a dashboard people trust.
