   Epic Platform Architecture

   Before you can build, support, or troubleshoot anything in Epic, you need a working mental model of how the platform is put together: one shared database underneath everything, a configurable front end that clinicians actually touch, and a security layer that decides who can see and do what. This module builds that model using Crestview Regional Health, a fictional 400-bed community hospital system implementing Epic, as the running example. You finish able to explain, in plain language, why Epic behaves the way it does and where an analyst's decisions actually take effect.

   Clinical Modules

   Epic is not one program: it is a family of specialized applications that all share a single patient record. This module tours that family through the eyes of Crestview Regional Health, a fictional 400-bed community hospital system implementing and operating Epic, and follows a patient from the clinic to the emergency department to the operating room and back out again without the chart ever splitting into separate silos. You finish knowing what each core clinical module does, who uses it, and how an analyst has to think across module boundaries, not just inside one.

   Revenue Cycle Modules

   This module answers a simple question with a surprisingly deep answer: how does a hospital actually get paid? You will learn the Epic applications that scheduled the visit, registered the patient, and turned that encounter into a submitted, adjudicated claim, Cadence, Prelude, Resolute Hospital Billing, Resolute Professional Billing, and Claims, and how they hand work to one another. Throughout, you will follow Crestview Regional Health, a fictional 400-bed community hospital system, as one patient's visit moves from a scheduled appointment all the way to cash in the bank.

   Ancillary & Patient Engagement Modules

   The clinical core (registration, Orders, documentation) does not run a hospital by itself. This module covers the modules that surround it: Beaker for the lab, Willow for pharmacy, MyChart for the patient, and Healthy Planet for the population beyond any single visit. It closes with a first look at Epic's data warehouse products, Cogito and Caboodle, so you understand where reporting data actually comes from before Module 8 goes deep on building reports. Every example is built on Crestview Regional Health, a fictional 400-bed community hospital system implementing and operating Epic.

   Security & System Administration

   Epic Implementation Methodology

   An Epic implementation is a multi-year program with a predictable shape: discovery and design, build and testing, go-live, and post-go-live optimization, each phase producing artifacts the next phase depends on. This module walks that full lifecycle through Crestview Regional Health's own Epic implementation, with a specific focus on the risk and compliance checkpoints that have to run alongside every phase rather than getting bolted on at the end. It sets up the course capstone, where you will work a slice of an implementation end to end.

    Ambulatory Pharmacy & Medication Management

    Module 5 gave you one lesson on Willow. This module goes back in and goes deep: the real retail and specialty pharmacy workflow inside Willow Ambulatory, the NCPDP SCRIPT and Surescripts mechanics that move a prescription from Hyperspace to a pharmacy counter, the record-level build behind Home Meds, Admission Reconciliation, and Discharge Reconciliation, and the clinical decision support and alert fatigue governance problem every Epic pharmacy analyst eventually owns. It closes with a full build walkthrough at Crestview Regional Health, adding a new specialty oncolytic from intake request to monitored go-live.

    Payer & Managed Care: Tapestry

    Most Epic training only ever looks at the provider side of the table. This module takes you to the other side: Tapestry, Epic's payer platform, and the world of benefit plans, eligibility, claims adjudication, and prior authorization that a health plan runs day to day. We use a fictional payer, Crestview Community Health Plan, affiliated with Crestview Regional Health, as the running example, and we spend real time on how provider-side Epic and payer-side Tapestry actually exchange data, a differentiated skill almost no other bootcamp teaches.

    Interfaces Engine & Care Everywhere

    This module goes past the HL7 v2 and FHIR fundamentals into the engine and network layer underneath them: how Epic's Bridges interface engine actually routes, translates, and queues a message; how Care Everywhere lets Crestview Regional Health pull a patient's outside records from other Epic organizations and national exchange networks; how patient matching actually works, and fails, across systems that were never built to share one identity; and the treatment, payment, and operations rules that govern what can legally cross an organizational boundary. It closes with a realistic Crestview incident, a stalled interface queue, that you have to diagnose the way a working interface analyst actually would.

    Epic AI, App Orchard & Third-Party Integration

    This module moves past what Epic already does today into where the platform is headed next: Epic's own embedded AI tools, from ambient documentation to the Cosmos research network, and the growing ecosystem of third-party apps that connect to Epic through App Orchard and SMART on FHIR. You will learn the real mechanics of how an outside application gets scoped, authorized, and authenticated against a live Epic environment, then apply the governance lens that ties this entire bootcamp together: how an Epic Analyst at a hospital system like Crestview Regional Health vets, contracts for, and monitors a new AI or third-party tool before it ever touches a real patient's protected health information.
