What is inside

6 modules, 24 lessons. Each module ends in a graded quiz.

  1. 01

Business Continuity Foundations and What ISO 22301 Actually Requires

Builds the vocabulary, principles and structure that the rest of the ISO 22301 Lead Implementer exam depends on. You will learn what business continuity means as a discipline, how a business impact analysis turns business judgement into defensible recovery targets, and how the requirements of clauses 4 through 10 lock together as one management system. The module closes with the duties top management cannot delegate, the mechanics of crisis communication, and the Plan Do Check Act cycle that keeps a BCMS alive long after the certificate arrives.

    Planning Your BCMS Implementation

Covers the ISO 22301 Lead Implementer domain Planning of a BCMS implementation based on ISO 22301, which carries roughly 22.5 percent of the exam. You will initiate the project with a mandate, gap analysis, and business case, then establish context, interested parties, obligations, and a defensible scope, set policy and measurable objectives, and complete the business impact analysis and risk assessment that produce recovery time objectives, recovery point objectives, and the minimum business continuity objective. Every topic is taught from the implementer's seat, with emphasis on the decision top management must take and the evidence an auditor will ask for.

    Implementing and Operating the BCMS

Covers Domain 4 of the ISO 22301 Lead Implementer exam, the implementation of a business continuity management system based on ISO 22301, worth about 22.5 percent of the exam. You learn to select and implement continuity strategies and solutions from business impact analysis outputs, write a response structure and plans that people can use under pressure, build the support layer of resources, competence, awareness and documented information, and operate the system through change, supplier dependency and real disruption. Every lesson closes with exam style checks, and the module ends with a fifteen question domain quiz.

    Monitoring, Measuring, Exercising, and Auditing

Covers Domain 5 of the ISO 22301 Lead Implementer exam (about 15 percent of the marks), which deals with monitoring, measurement, exercising, internal audit, and management review of a business continuity management system. Four lessons build the evaluation half of the Plan, Do, Check, Act cycle: designing indicators and a monitoring programme, running an exercise programme that produces real evidence, planning and conducting internal audits, and chairing a management review that ends in decisions. Each lesson teaches what the standard expects, what evidence proves it, and the failure patterns examiners like to test.

Nonconformities, Corrective Action, and Continual Improvement

Covers Domain 6 of the ISO 22301 Lead Implementer exam, continual improvement of a BCMS, which carries about 12.5 percent of the exam. You will learn how to identify and grade nonconformities, run root cause analysis, design corrective actions that survive verification, and keep plans, analysis and strategies current after exercises and real disruptions. The module closes with the culture, maturity and governance practices that keep a certified BCMS improving between audits.

Getting Certified: Preparing for the BCMS Certification Audit

Covers Domain 7 of the ISO 22301 Lead Implementer exam, preparing for a BCMS certification audit, which carries about 8.75 percent of the exam. You will learn how third party certification works from selection of a certification body through Stage 1, Stage 2, surveillance and recertification, how to assemble an evidence pack that survives sampling, and how to manage auditors, findings and nonconformity responses on the day. The module closes with a practical strategy for the PECB exam itself and for the certification application that follows it.
