What you will be able to do

  • You will be able to map SHRM-SCP questions to the three Knowledge Domains (People, Organization, Workplace) and the Behavioral Competencies so you can tell what each item is really testing.
  • You will be able to answer People-domain items on HR strategic planning, talent acquisition, engagement, learning and development, and total rewards at a strategy-setting level.
  • You will be able to reason through Organization-domain items on HR structure, organizational effectiveness and development, workforce management, employee and labor relations, and HR technology.
  • You will be able to apply Workplace-domain knowledge of global HR, diversity equity and inclusion, risk management, corporate social responsibility, and U.S. employment law.
  • You will be able to decode situational-judgment items (SJIs) and choose the BEST senior-level response using SHRM's behavioral competency proficiency indicators.
  • You will be able to distinguish SCP-level (strategic, organization-wide) answers from CP-level (operational, tactical) answers when two options both look defensible.
  • You will be able to build an exam-day strategy for SHRM's mix of knowledge items and situational-judgment items under timed conditions.
